BRIAN KING MEMORIAL FUND
The Brian King Memorial Fund has been founded to celebrate Brian’s life and to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and Local Animal Charities.
These charities were particularly close to Brian’s heart and we have chosen them in remembrance of Brian.
The fund was started by his close family and friends on 8 July 2007 when we held a Health, Pet and FamilyFun Day on the Beach Lawns at Weston and raised over £4000 in his memory and gave people a wonderful insight into the work done by the charities involved.
Every year we hold at least one event for the fund to help local charities that do such a sterling job and play such an important role in helping the local community and animals in need.
Our local charities do not benefit from the same media coverage and we therefore ask you for your support in these events.
SOS Sponsored Walk 14 February 2009
We walked with friends from the British Heart Foundation and many of the local animal charities including Holly Hedge and Westie Rescue along the beach at Weston.
The dogs looking for new homes wore home made hearts! Together we raised over £1200.
A Big thank you!!!
Little Orchard Dog Show 27 September 2009

We love our dogs shows and had a stand at Little Orchards in September which was great fun.
Jerry did his bit in the ring judging in the dog show!
SOS Sponsored Walk 13 February 2010
Despite the bitter weather Saturday the walk was a success beyond what we could have ever imagined. With a truly biting wind over 95 dogs turned up and we had a fabulous time.
Last year we raised £1200 and we were really hoping to try and match that but not only did we matched it but doubled it!!!!!!! We would really like to say we are extremely grateful to all those people that took part and the fantastic generosity of all those involved.
The Monday after our walk a little blind and deaf Jack Russell had done his days and as he is unclaimed he is up for adoption we have named him "Valentino" after the walk and he will be first to benefit from the SOS fund. He is booked to see Ian Stobbart from Clarendon Road Veterinary Surgery as he will need a little help in getting ready for his new home (I have attached a photo) so Valentino and all of us here are at the kennels are very grateful.
We have asked Ian our vet if he can do a Brad Pitt equivalent in the dog world for him and he said he will try his best!!!
As with last year we left it up to the walkers to tell us who they wanted their monies raised to go to and here is how this years will be allocated
Total collected £2481.02 (includes pledged but not received income of £319.50)

Santa’s Grotto

Here at the kennels we are very luckycause at Christmas santa (Jerry!!) makes a special visit to see us!!!!
He arrives on a pony and cart with one of his elf helpers (grandad!!).
Elf helpers (Harriet and Helen our girls and Gerard our son) show him the way to his grotto.
He then spends 2 days seeing the children from the local pre school and our doggie friends.
Paul from Vanda Photography captures the special moment and each visitor gets a special present from santa’s elves (Lewis and Alastair our sons).
All the money raised from the grotto goes to the memorial fund to help local animal charities.
