Fundraising

Every year we hold at least one event for the fund to help the chosen charities that do such a sterling job and play such an important role in helping the local community and animals in need. Your continued support in these events is always greatly appreciated as we look to continue and build on our past successes…

The Brian King Memorial Fund

The Brian King Memorial Fund was founded to celebrate Brian’s life and to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and local animal charities, all particularly close to Brian’s heart. The fund was started by close family and friends and on the 8 July 2007 when we held a health pet and family fun day on beach lawns at Weston and raised over £4000, giving people a wonderful insight into the work done by the charities involved.

SOS sponsored dog walk

In 2009 we undertook an SOS sponsored dog walk with friends from the British Heart Foundation and many of the local animal charities including Holly Hedge and Westie Rescue along the beach of Weston. The dogs looking for new homes wore homemade hearts! Together we raised over £1200. This was followed later in the year by the Little Orchard dog show where we had a stand and Jerry did his bit judging in the dog show!

In 2011 over 55 dogs and about 100 people walked for their chosen charity in the SOS sponsored dog walk. We raised over £1400 which was distributed to charities including the Dog Trust, Secret World, RSPCA, Dog Friends,  Greyhound Rescue South West, Holly Hedge, Second Chance Rescue and the Cinnamon Trust.  And in 2012 we got the opportunity to attend the Axbridge Dog Show where we had a stand and provided the judging. Lots of fun, although Daisy managed to help herself to edible raffle prizes from another stall!
